There are several types of online degree programs, one of the most popular being in the form of accelerated degrees. If you are looking to earning your degree, but can’t afford to spend the necessary time that a normal 2 or 4-year degree program takes up, you may want to consider accelerated degrees.
What are accelerated degrees?
Accelerated degrees are just that – degrees that are “sped up” so that you can get your diploma in less tie. Accelerated degrees are found in every degree level from associates all the way to doctorate.
A typical 2-year degree can be completed in 12-16 months in an accelerated format. A 4-year bachelor’s degree can be completed in 24-36 months depending on the degree program.
How is this accomplished, you may ask? The college courses themselves take up less time which enables a student to earn credits faster and thus allowing them to gather the necessary credits required to earn a particular degree.
Many accelerated degree courses can last anywhere from 3-12 weeks, which is usually shorter than a regular college course. It’s important to recognize that these programs work in a very fast-paced environment, and it’s necessary to be able to keep up with the pace of learning in a shorter class term.
Online Degrees vs. Campus Degrees
Accelerated degrees are offered online and on-campus. You will find, however, that obtaining online accelerated degrees provides you with more options, as not every college offers accelerated degrees, and finding one that is convenient to you may be more difficult than you can imagine. Online degrees allow you to enroll in any school you’d like, regardless of their location.
Accelerated degrees are a fantastic way to get the education you need to start your new career in less time. If you’re looking for a great way to earn your bachelor’s, master’s, or associate degree in less time, than an accelerated degree program is a perfect match for you.
