Fast Track PhD Programs

by Donna Applegate

Looking for fast track PhD programs?

Be careful. A PhD is the highest academic honor one can achieve, and earning it is neither fast nor easy.

You should be wary of organizations that promise fast track PhD programs. Make sure they are accredited and research both the school and the accrediting organization before signing on with anything billing itself as offering  “fast track PhD programs.” Don’t get fooled by a so-called “diploma mill,” that takes your money and gives you a diploma that won’t be recognized by your peers or your employer.

While some programs do give you credit for work experience and past schooling, it still takes several years to earn your PhD, whether it be online or in a traditional school setting. In fact, it takes the average person five years to earn a PhD.

For leaders in certain fields, earning a PhD is the pinnacle of career success. Most frequently, people earn their PhDs in the following disciplines:

  • Psychology
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Public Health
  • Business

While it is impossible to find quality fast track PhD programs, for those who are passionate about their careers and want to be a leader in their fields find earning a PhD is an incredibly rewarding experience.
